Villarreal captain Marcos Senna has turned down the chance to link up with former Spain coach Luis Aragones at Fenerbahce, insisting he is happy to remain at the Estadio El Madrigal.
Reports in Spain claimed the Turkish club were preparing a big-money deal for Senna and were prepared to offer the Brazilian-born 32-year-old a bumper pay-packet of 3.5million euros a season.
But the Spain midfielder, who was strongly linked to Manchester United last summer, claims he is happy to remain at Villarreal, where he has played since 2002.
"At the moment I want to play the next World Cup with Spain and I hope to win the Champions League with Villarreal, it's my dream," Senna told Spanish sports daily Marca.
"I have spent six years in Spain and I feel very loved at Villarreal.
"When my contract ends I'm sure I'll return to Brazil, where I'm building a house to live with my wife and son."
Senna worked under Aragones in the national team after being granted Spanish citizenship in early 2006 and is an ardent admirer of the veteran tactician, who led Spain to Euro 2008 glory before returning to club football with Fener.
"Luis is a great man and an admirer of Brazilian football," Senna added.
"He told us that he wanted us to play like Brazil, even though it's clear Spain don't have the same winning tradition."
